About long distance relationships
By katak | January 12, 2008
The very concept of long distance love relations still seems a little absurd to many people..
Love in general is a wonderful feeling for all of us and being in love is one of the most phenomenal feelings. When distance comes between them, the only solace they have is the love and trust that they share with each other. But, they still survive the distance and the wait to come out stronger and have more faith on each other than the normal couples do.
Nobody intends to fall in love with someone living far away. It usually happens that either the couple gets separated because of career commitments or personal commitments or something else.
Often I wonder whether a long distance relationship is worth it and do such relationships really work. Two people are staying so far from each other and are not able to even see each other for days or maybe months to come. Obviously, both of them feel alone at times and need the presence of their partner. However, it may not be possible for the other partner to come at such a time. Many such things happen in a long distance relationship.
To me, a long distance love relation can succeed, but both the partners need to make conscious efforts for it. Apart from love, you need trust, loyalty, confidence, faith, understanding and lots of communication.
In a usual relationship, you can afford to fight over small issues, although you should not. But, when it comes to long distance relationships, you need to make the most of the time you two have together, whether on the phone or in person. And that does not include the time for fighting.
A long distance relationship can be somewhat of a test for each other, and will prove how strong your love really is.
You are both together because you fell in love with each others soul and heart, so it always nice to be reminded of how much someone loves you every once in a while.
