poor handling of information vs trying to be service-oriented

    By katak | May 28, 2008

Some things will never change, and perhaps it never will in the distant future too.

For instance, some House Officers, nurses and clerks will always ask if a patient have any history of drug allergy prior to admission to hospital.

This question will be continuously ask by EVERY single one of them to a patient that they are seeing for the first time despite the fact that the answer to this question HAVE BEEN indicated right smack on the 1st page in the patient’s own medical report file.

So you tell me what’s the point of having that freaking answer/statement there in the 1st place then. Shame on them if they have got use to asking this question to break the ice with patients.

Sometimes you will lead, and sometimes you will follow.

On another note, our bundled of joy came this evening. Mother is fine. Father is calm on the outside but a nervous wreck on the inside. :-)

    Laterz.
