A couple of days back, I stumbled across a familiar man, sitting near my void deck. He is probably in his 50s. As I tried to recall where I could I have possibly met him, then I realised that he have been around my neighbourhood for quite some time. In fact, I remembered seeing him playing football under my previous residential area with a group of kids back when I was in secondary school. That was about 15 years ago. .. continue reading ..

I was at a petrol kiosk carwash in Bedok North earlier this afternoon. I thought my car could get a good wash since its been raining for the past few days now and the car has been a tad too dirty….

Okay okay, perhaps it was ALREADY dirty before the recent downpour. So in any case, I drove up to this particular area because as far as I know, this is the only one that I know which have those machine-operated dryer after a foam wash.

This was the first time that I saw a group of teenagers doing the washing instead of the usual regulars in charge. As I was waiting in queue, I saw a couple of them stealing glances at my car. It was then I realised that they were sneering at the sight of my transformers logo. As my car approach nearer, they noticed my SCDF uniform hanging at the back, which I have brought along since I was on standby this month, and start to talk out loud to their comrades, thinking that my radio was on perhaps. .. continue reading ..

One of the few interesting questions that I heard over the radio this morning.

Why is it illegal to park in handicapped parking places, but ok to use handicapped toilets?

Any takers?

I came across this as I was reading a book in the school library. I was so fascinated by it that I decided to put it up here for my references, at least in the not so distant future.

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender,be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant;they too have their story. .. continue reading ..

So the forensic scientist based her report on 120 photos, 2 visits to the campus and police report. Crime scene forensic investigation based on photos? Visit to crime scene after it is cleaned up? Based on police reports ? Hmm… if that’s the case, they should probably go get a medium and conduct a séance too.

In any case, I believe the grieving family should be calling in CSI:Batam to do justice for them. At least in a real CSI situation, they would already be at the crime scene prior to clean-up to reconstruct what happened, not based on reports which, besides the poor english, might be bias, that would thus lead to an inaccurate account of what happened that fateful morning.

Oh well, back to other news then.
