All of that music you’ve copied from your CDs to your PC and iPod are “unauthorized,” according to a court brief filed by the RIAA. It’s not surprising, given the testimony from one music industry executive that making copies of your own music is stealing.

I’m just blown away by how stupid the RIAA is. Thank God that their power only lies in USA. Of course, I can’t seem to know anybody who hasn’t ripped a CD to their hard drive before !

I’d say, they’d better sue Apple, Microsoft, and all the others who made the tools expressly for ripping CDs. If they spent as much money researching and educating the record labels on how to take advantage of this “new” technology and marketing it that way, they’d be much better off.

It is a shame that these morons do not understand the language in the law of copyright stating fair use. One copy is allowed to be made of any media disc. It’s a shame they try to ignore written law and make them up as they go along just because their business model is broken and they don’t know how to fix it
