What is morale ?
How strange that the one thing that drives a company the most is the one thing most companies don’t drive… “Morale”. Morale is often believed to be all to do with ‘reward’ and it’s no wonder company directors are so dismissive of improving it. Better morale suggests better reward, and reward suggests ‘money’. No company wants to see their hard earned profits go to something as frivolous and immeasurable as improving morale.

A man threw his seriously ill wife four stories to her death because he could no longer afford to pay for her medical care, prosecutors said in charging him with second-degree murder…. walked his wife to the balcony of their apartment and kissed her before throwing her over….. had no health insurance to pay for medical bills that ranged from $700 to $800 per week….

It’s so gruesome and sad. You almost wish/hope the wife wanted, begged him to do it.
The health care system not only leads to deaths due to neglect, but it drives people to kill their loved ones because they can’t afford treatment. Now that’s fucked up. 🙁

That’s what we work is it not? There or thereabouts (in my case, its 8 to 6!!). Who decided this and how did it become so wide spread in our culture? Can someone be truly productive for a full 8 hours in a day? Does anyone take in to consideration one person who fulfills their quota in just 1-hour where another equally qualified colleague takes 12-hours to do the same work?
