After a few minutes of troubleshooting…
Me: “Ok if that is the case, please take down the reference number. We will get the onsite to come down and assist you further.”
User: (speaking to colleague) “Oii give me pen to write down! They sending down their architect to check the printer.”
Me: “No Miss. Its the technician that we’re sending down, not an architect.”
User: “Aiyah, technician lah, architect lah, they’re all the same.”
If I can recall correctly, the M/O/E IT Masterplan is in Phase 2 right now till 2015. One of their objectives is to wired all primary, secondary and tertiary to the main IT pipeline and introduce wireless connection to all classroom / lecture halls / etc.
While kids in primary school probably are too young to understand this, I am contemplating on the benefits of having wireless fidelity for students in the higher secondary and tertiary level.
Initially, when I first heard the new term, I find it funny and simply didn’t understand why the word EXCURSION is being replaced with LEARNING JOURNEY.
Of course, the full meaning was further examplified on my recent trip to the Singapore Science Centre, esp the Omnimax Theatre over the weekend.
Of course, once the celebration is over, most teachers will be anticipating their own day, that’s celebrated on 1st September each year.
This year, M/O/E did a wonderful thing of hosting a dedication website for teachers all over Singapore. Students as well as ex-students especially, are able to send/read dedications to their own teachers as well.

Heatwaves in US is causing the host’s server database to crash. Even the backup server was not spared. Hence, the 3rd server was brought in, that was backup every 2 weeks.
Of course, it’s a good thing, considering the fact that someone tried to pull off a prank by trying to send a comment using my SDM’s nick/name and inputting nasty words on my 3 articles that I posted a few days back.
