working dilemma

Now that I am about to embark on another episode in my working life, my current HR decided to make an early shift at my request and seeing how earnest she is in doing this shift, it makes me wonder and put me in a spot if I were to hand in my resignation letter should I get the job after the upcoming interview at the new company soon.

Should I:

  • sign up with the new company (or organisation), despite knowing the troubles that I’ve made the current HR lady go through or;
  • wait and try to adapt to the new position being offered here, despite knowing that lightning may strike twice, after what happened to 14 degrees mid last year.

Hmm… mid work crisis… the force is strong in this one.

on relationships and love

When I was really young, when the idea of relationships didn’t have any meaning to me, I was completely content with myself. I didn’t need anyone to complete my life in any manner and there was never a time when I couldn’t occupy myself. When I started getting into serious relationships, I was completely content except for the brief periods during the ending phase of a relationship, but I had everything a person could want in life.

Because we are the majority and what we say we get

Just got off the hook with one bloody idiot of a Doctor.

He queried why the PC in the S/G/H Library did not have any Chinese reading software installed.

Judging from the way he talked, it is obvious that he is a FT from mainland China. And thinking that this guy is probably new to the environment and do not have any idea how it works, I told him that this is probably because the department did not raise a request to IT department to have those PCs in the Library to be installed with Chinese reading/writing software.

The moment I replied that, he got off into a spat with me.

how the weekend was spent

The prelude of the weekend began on Friday night, where I met up with Ain‘s hubby and her brother to fetch a Toyota Picnic from Woodlands. Well, that was the initial plan actually.

And since Ain is staying just 2 blocks away from me, we decided to meet up first and proceed to the pickup point together.

ultimate aim from working

What is your ultimate aim from working? That is a question I bet most workers do not really think about. You did not answer my question, if your answers include the following; paying the bills, getting that promotion, successfully backstabbing that colleague or earning a cool million dollars.

Teachers stage fake gun attack on kids

Read the article here

On one hand, you do want to be prepared, but on the other hand, it was a little over the top, particularly for 11 year old kids. All in all, I’d say it wasn’t that great an idea, and I’m sure the parents will make that clear through costly lawsuits.

And the best thing was the school principal said that its an act of poor judgement.

I’d probably ask to fire all the people involved in this act, up to and including the school administrator. Then sue the fuck out of the school board.

During the last night of the trip, staff members convinced the 69 students that there was a gunman on the loose. They were told to lie on the floor or hide underneath tables and stay quiet. A teacher, disguised in a hooded sweat shirt, even pulled on locked door.

$130 for 2 durians……….beware

There was an interesting article posted on STOMP the other day, about a lady who bought 2 durians and unknowingly have to pay close to that amount.

Of course, both parties are at fault here. I wonder how dumb can she be when she really paid for it instead of walking away from there and complaint.

“By then, the durian was served, so in order not to dampen our high spirits, we did not bicker and just paid the lousy seller,” she wrote in an email.
