Hot off the oven

So it turns out that this year is the final year that I/B/M Service support centre will be in KKB. From mid-December, we’re shifting to Changi Business Park building. Yes, Ida, this is confirmed.

Advantage:

– Bigger enclosure, possibly more headcount injected into our project?

Disadvantage(s):

– increase of travelling expenses.
– expensive meals food cafe, the nearest food centre would be the Bedok neighbourhood that even the local bus charge 50 cents per trip!!
– have to wake up early and no more sleeping after prayers 🙁

Now the MP3 player will come in handy during those long trips.

GCE O levels

As I was walking down the road to work this morning, I saw throngs of Bedok North Secondary school students walking towards the entrance of the school, with all their school textbooks and notes on hand.

The school is officially having its school holiday since last Monday and a quick check with my sister-in-law confirm that they are allowing the premises to be used by the GCE O level candidates for revising.

It brought back fond memories of me taking the O levels, exactly 10 years ago.

Some users are just plain….

Me: “Where is your printer located?”

User: “Middle of my desk.”

Me: “I have to give the onsite some directions, where do I tell them to go?”

User: “In the middle of my desk where I work.

I’m 26 and my wife is 16, or so they thought.

wife-16-age

Yes, with a face like that, almost 6 guests were fooled and she almost got like (5*6=$30) of green packets from bewildered guests during my open house yesterday.

And no, I didn’t go out with a minor!!!

And you thought an IT specialist PC is the best

Even our personal PC may have some problems too. No wonder it started to behave strangely by kept booting off upon logon to Windows.

Registry Mechanic and msconfig did the trick to resolve the problem.

Dumb users vs Dumb managers

I dunno which one is worst. At one end of the weighing scale is the users, with all its glory personified.

And on the other hand, we have the managers. One being the welfare and the other being the service manager.

As you all know, our project here is so important and crucial that we are not allowed to take leave on a day which someone else already have taken that leave.

For those born between 1974 to 1980

Older people laughed at me because I miss the 60s. Supposed to be one of the best times… but what the heck, I’m sure the late 80s to 90s left you plenty good memories too.

I felt so retro… being a kid of the 80s and teen of 90s… those were the best times in my life till now.
