Backup server to harddisk

Yesterday my friend told me a funny incident that I almost die of laughter.

2 weeks back an N/T/U undergrad currently undergoing attachment at my friend’s company tried to backup the company server into.. his PC harddisk!! My friend was expecting his harddisk to crash, instead it caused the server to operate erratically for the whole day and causing great inconvenience to the company.

On top of that, he tried to backup the database server, and configured to run the backup sequence once every two hours. Ask him why, he say DONNO. Classic reply from an idiot.

You

Nothing much to say in this post, except that after all that we’ve gone through,

I really LOVE my wife very much.

1st appointment at HDB is a pretty strenuous task, especially with the numerous amount of signatures that you need to input in the forms. Makes you feel like a gahmen minister VIP like that. 🙂

Of Chain Mails

Publicity surrounding antitrust actions against Microsoft has revived some of 1997’s sillier examples of Net apocrypha concerning the company’s illustrious founder, Bill Gates. Yes!! Almost 9 years since the Internet phenomenon began, the spam mails are still being circulated around which made me thinking.

The one with the email

Its funny how 1 email can create confusion and a scutter of mid-management squabbles especially in light of the new _self-appointed_ Shorty acting as SDM for the project.

Of course, the whole incident, that occured on Tuesday, was only brought forward to me yesterday. Typical slow process and digestion of management here I guess.

And she said that they want to oust him out of the project, because:

– he did something unjust to an ex-teammate in the project
– he employed several rival team-members and ignoring his own Company resources

Why do I sense that Company only act fast when their income growth have been stirred ?

Longhorn aka Windows Vista

For years, computer users heard of a mysterious new operating system from Microsoft, codenamed Longhorn. In 2005 Microsoft officially removed the Longhorn codename and announced the operating System under the official name of Windows Vista.

I’m down with Diarrhoea

Excerpt from Britain’s net doctor site

Diarrhoea is the passing of increased amounts (more than 300g in 24 hours) of loose stools.

It is often caused by a virus or bacteria and can be acute (short term) or chronic (long term) – lasting more than two to three weeks.

Most people are affected by diarrhoea at some time in their lives. It is often accompanied by stomach pains, feeling sick and vomiting. It is usually due to consumption of drinking water contaminated with bacteria, undercooked meat and eggs or inadequate kitchen hygiene – in other words, an infection.

And just last night, I was talking to my matchmaker about this subject. Talk about coincidence!!!
