A few more days to the end of 2011

It has been an enriching year for me, both in my personal life as well as work experiences. And yet, we all will bid goodbye to our good times (and the bad ones) that we have encountered for the past few months.

Some prefer not to remember any of the bad ones and just moved on with their lives, thus treating it like it never occured in the first place. I wonder why we don’t want to take the positive out of it, to try and learn from our mistakes so as to ensure that the same mistake do not happen again.

Others tend to be too emotional and start to think of the negative aspects and how it has affected their lifestyle, blaming that their lives would have turned out better if it did not occur in the first place.

I talk in rambles these days. I am not sure why though. Must be the 30-ish syndrome.

A birthday wish for the birthday girl

My wife has been someone whom I have never failed to ignore after my mother. When it comes to putting up with my idiosyncrasies, I guess no one else can stand it better than what she have done so far.

Another reason to reaffirm my belief of being a teacher

Earlier this afternoon, after the last period of the day, a student came up to me and said, ?Thank you Mr Shaifudin.?

Had it been some other students or for some other reasons, I wouldn?t have kept my mind about it. But this is someone special. Someone whom have been having difficulty expressing his words, his feelings since Primary 1. Someone whom have been getting <30 marks for any subjects since the day that he can remember taking his first exam paper.

A tribute to all fathers since it is Father’s Day

The topic that my uncle brought forth during the night class set me thinking. It was also in lieu of today being Father’s Day, a special day when we take time-out from our everyday life to pay tribute and recognise the efforts that our fathers have made and sacrificed for the family.

The job of a father is never an easy job. Of course, it is second only to the mother’s duty when it comes to raising up a proper family. Gone are the days when fathers are just playing a secondary role in shaping the life of their own family.

In a modern society, equal responsibility is being shared by both spouses and I have seen cases of bad childhood experiences for my own pupils whom were brought up without the guidance of either a father or a mother. Since this topic is more on Father’s Day, I shall leave behind the duties of a mother and focus more on the subject.

My 5 year old wedding anniversary

Today also marks exacty 10 years, 4 months and 4 days since I have known my wife. I must say that looking back, those were the most wonderful 3776 days of my life well spent when you know that you have spend it with someone whom ended up as your spouse.

I know that I have not been a good husband. In fact, I realised that after marriage, I had more to do to sustain my lovelife and family life together. I learnt more about making sacrificies and about giving in and taking moderately, all the basic necessities in life.

Thank you my dear wife for helping and shaping me to become who I am and what I am right now. I do hope that we will remain together till death do us part.
